What waiting costs you
Most owners start by asking what IT will cost. In our experience, the bigger number is what the current setup is already costing in time, focus and missed work.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does IT support for a law firm include?
It covers the systems your practice runs on: workstations, servers and the network, Microsoft 365 and email, backups of client files and email, multi-factor sign-in and access controls, secure file sharing, and remote access for court, home and travel. We also support your practice and document management software and deal with its vendor when something breaks. It is one flat fee per user, per month, with our Richmond team behind it.
We have 9 attorneys and 7 staff. How does pricing work?
One flat fee per user, per month. Before you sign, we work out with you who counts as a user. You'll know the number up front, and it doesn't change without a conversation.
We run Clio. Do you support it?
Yes. We support the practice software you already run rather than asking you to switch. That covers the machines and network it depends on, keeping everything patched, and dealing with the vendor's support line when something breaks.
Can you set up access so staff only see the matters they work on?
Yes, and it is part of onboarding. We map who should reach what, then set folder and application permissions to match, so an ethical wall is enforced by the system instead of by everyone remembering.
Our documents are a mess. Can you clean that up?
The folder structure, permissions and sync get set up properly during onboarding. Moving years of files into a document management system is a bigger job, so we scope it separately and tell you what it costs before anyone starts.
Can our attorneys work securely from court or from home?
Yes. We set up remote access with multi-factor sign-in, so attorneys can reach files and email from court, home or travel without copying client documents onto personal devices.
How do we send files to clients without email attachments?
We set up secure file sharing, so you send a link instead of an attachment, control who can open it, and can turn off access when the matter closes. Encrypted email is available for messages that need it.
What if we get hit with ransomware right before a filing deadline?
We contain it first, then restore from backups we test regularly, so recovery isn't guesswork. We also walk through your cyber insurance carrier's claims process with you.
A client or insurer sent us a security questionnaire. Can you fill it out?
We'll tell you what's in place so you can answer it accurately, and what it would take to turn a no into a yes. A short form is part of the service. A long formal questionnaire or audit package is quoted as a separate project, so you know what you're paying for.
Do you come to the office, or is it all remote?
Both. Most problems are fixed remotely, often within minutes. When something needs hands on it, like a printer or a workstation swap, someone from our Richmond team comes out.
Where in Virginia do you support law firms?
Our office is on Hull Street Road in Richmond, and we support law firms across Virginia, including Richmond, Henrico, Chesterfield, Midlothian, Mechanicsville and Lynchburg. Most day-to-day support happens remotely, and when something needs hands on site, a technician from our own team comes to you.
How long does it take to get started?
Onboarding takes 90 days or less, and we guarantee it. If we don't finish in that time, you can cancel with no penalty or termination fee.
