Spam Report: Your e-mail will be blocked within 48 hours for a spam

While we continue to see Russian, Viagra and look at my pics spam rolling into our filters over the past couple of weeks with a few new ones that you should be aware of. Greeting cards are back in the fray and seem to slightly more deceptive then before. We highly recommend just deleting any greeting card email that comes your way; they’re fake more often than not and if they contain an attachment of ANY kind, delete it without opening it.

We have also seen a few clever emails that look like a spam filter reporting that your email is blocked. They arrive with a body similar to:

Your e-mail will be blocked within 48 hours for a spam if it was an error, please open the attached file

Amazon.com Deal of the Day and others

Its been a while since we have been able to get the spam blog updated, but that will no longer be the case and we apologize for the lapse.

The most common email we are seeing at the moment is the Amazon.com “Deal of the Day” which is pedaling the usual bill pill and his assorted counterparts. We have also seen a “Information about policy changes” regarding Playstation Network, which is actually a spam email as well. Emails addressed in russian as well “BestVIAGRA Shop” , “ClassicViagra on-line” are also rounding out the common junk we are seeing hit our filters. Your AOL Instant Messenger account will be deleted

A new spam we started to see today. “Your AOL Instant Messenger account will be deleted” is actually a spam message and should be deleted. If you hover over the link within the email, you’ll notice it has nothing to do with AOL or Instant messenger.
