When World Pediatric Project, a non-profit that provides critical-care health services to children in the Caribbean and Central America, found themselves knee-deep in a pricey server rebuild and data recovery process, they decided it was time to look for a new IT partner. One who could backup and maintain the network and connect their international staff, all while keeping their mission and budget in mind.  That’s when they joined forces with another small business – Hermetic Networks.

A fresh IT foundation with commitment to maintenance 

It didn’t take long for the Hermetic team to realize that World Pediatric Project hadn’t had the monitoring and security it needed to ensure their meaningful work was being properly supported by an IT infrastructure. So, HN worked quickly to fix the server, normalize and update systems, deploy Anti-Virus to all computers and establish a webmail interface for users to temporarily log into externally.

In order to best serve the families, children and communities they work for, World Pediatric Project needed everyone involved in their organization to have access to their in-house patient database, no matter where they were in the world. And not only did it need to be accessible, but secure.

Hermetic Networks worked within World Pediatrics budget and established a permanent connection between the offices in Richmond and St. Louis, and enabled remote users to connect back to Richmond from computers wherever they were.

Today, the entire team can work together on projects from anywhere, thanks to the remote access created by Hermetic Networks, creating better communication and improving workflow. And with their IT infrastructure being monitored and maintained regularly by the HN team, they can focus on the important work at hand – reaching out to more children in need of medical attention.

World Pediatric Project needed upgrades across the board for working with critical data in remote locations and communicating among staff in order to efficiently achieve their mission of providing quality healthcare to children around the globe. Between server hardware failures, software misconfiguration, and a non-existent IT process framework, WPP needed help, and fast.
